I've had a problem with biting my nails for as long as I've had teeth (or as long as I remember anyways). What is a good way to get me to stop? What are some good methods? Is it just a habit or is nail biting a sign of something else? any info would be great.

My eight year old daughter has a huge nail biting issue. Her nails look terrible. I have talked to her about not biting them and nothing seems to work. When I see her doing it I get on her. However, it continues to be a problem. Any advice?
